Father’s Day celebrates the contributions fathers make in the lives of their children. Unfortunately, this recognition doesn’t apply to many low-income dads.
Today, 1 out of 3 children lives without his/her father in the home, and many low-income fathers are unavailable because they are working multiple jobs to support their families.
Research shows a father's parenting plays a critical role in childhood growth and development, including:
Public Health Solutions – the largest public health nonprofit in New York City – helps improve the health of low-income families and children. Our services are integrated into high-risk communities, providing support to 30,000+ young families each year. Dads for Dads – a NEW initiative - will expand upon our outreach to address issues specific to fathers.
But, we need your help in making Dads for Dads possible. And what better time to make that happen than Father’s Day!
This Father’s Day, consider making a very special gift to honor your father, husband or loved one.
